I've been catching up on some of the blogs I read, and I have come across a few who mention that Google Reader/Friends Connect will no longer be available (something to do with Google+)...I don't know how many of you use Reader to view your favourite blogs, but since I've been doing some clean up on my blog and rearranging things, I had decided to remove many of the blogs I visit and only view them in Reader along with others I had on there...
Now I find this may pose a problem... so, I've put some of the blogs I visit back on my blog until I read up more on this... but if any of you have any info and would like to share your knowledge, it would be really appreciated... it would be tragic to lose a whole list of favourites.... if I had more time and could review this more I certainly would, and would share my findings, however, appears the deadline is here or passed??

Reader is not going away. It is just a tool to read feeds. Google Friends Connect is not going away. What is happening is that only Google related products (Blogger IE Blogspot blogs) it will still work. If you use other blogging sites it will no longer work.
ReplyDeleteSo as long as you get your favorite sites into reader as streams that your following nothing will happen. If your like me following 300+ sites it might just be a blessing that some of them went away but they wont. So I will keep reading them.

Thanks Richard....I knew someone out there would have an answer for me.... it's kind of like Y2K, everyone gets panicked over nothing, and I usually don't worry about things like that, but without having taken the time to read up more about it, I thought I'd better be safe than sorry! :) Thanks again!
